Task 3: ANALYZING AMERICAN COUNCILS MOLDOVA SUCCESSFUL GRANT PROPOSALS
1) EFL BLOGGING SCHOOL Executive summary: The project selected and trained 25 EFL teachers from various regions of Moldova on how to create and run a classroom or school blog in English. The participants went through a three stage instructional process: face to face trainings, online mentoring (each participant worked independently online with a mentor) and independent practice (the participants conducted their own trainings to share from their experience). 2) ORHEI DISTRICT YOUTH COUNCIL INITIATIVE Executive summary: The project selected, trained and empowered over 38 young citizens from 38 villages in Orhei district in order to create a district self governing youth council which worked closely with local authorities: mainly city halls and local councils in dealing with various community issues of common concern. 3) MAKING CHANGES THROUGH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS The project increased youth civic engagement through EFL school educational projects in 2 regions from Moldova by involving over 50 participants who worked closely with teachers, school principals, mass media and local authorities in their communities. In addition to improving their English speaking skills, the project offered its participants outside the capital city the opportunity to develop important characteristics of citizenship and result in greater civic participation later in life, which is so important for the health and performance of democracy in Moldova. 4) FLEX EDUCATION NETWORK CONFERENCE The project aimed to inform 80 students about local and international study opportunities and let them make the best choice in their area of interest either in Moldova or other countries. It focused on sharing valuable experiences and creating efficient networking by bring opportunities closer to Moldovan teenagers and following other countries example. The conference had a double impact: opportunities in the educational area and further on, improvement on a macro level, regarding socio-economic fields. Project objectives: to develop the ability of writing a substantial CV; to sketch tips for a successful interview; to write a convincing motivational letter; to provide direct interaction between students themselves and the speakers; to create a network of contacts; to support intercultural interaction. |
